Research & Work Experience
- Provide statistical consulting to faculty, staff, and students across Yale through the University Library's StatLab, guiding the full research workflow, which spans data management, study design, methodology selection, analysis, and the interpretation and visualization of results.
- Specialize in supporting clinical and biomedical researchers across Yale's medical schools alongside the broader research community, delivering 50+ one-on-one consultations to date.
- Authored statistical-analysis research guides and developed instructional materials that advance data and methodological literacy.
- Co-developed and calibrated the Smoking, E-cigarette & Pregnancy (SEP) microsimulation in R, an individual-based model that jointly simulates smoking, e-cigarette use, and pregnancy across U.S. birth cohorts through 2100, to project the long-term maternal and infant health and economic impact of a proposed federal nicotine product standard.
- Calibrated the model to U.S. national survey data, including NHIS and BRFSS, using L-BFGS-B numerical optimization.
- Parameterized the model's maternal-morbidity and infant-mortality probabilities by analyzing the National Survey of Family Growth, linked birth–infant death files, and National Vital Statistics natality data, extracting prevalences and computing event probabilities from these sources.
- First-authored an abstract accepted to the Society for Medical Decision Making (SMDM) 2026 Annual Meeting.
- Led systematic literature reviews on regulatory frameworks and AI/ML applications in healthcare to inform policy direction.
- Delivered feasibility assessments and critical appraisals of academic and grey literature, distilling them into evidence-based summaries and communication materials for health-innovation and access strategies.
- Advanced stakeholder engagement through literature synthesis and value-narrative development.
- Conducted systematic reviews and meta-analyses across cardiorenal and cardiometabolic medicine, including chronic kidney disease, hypertension, type-2-diabetes therapeutics such as SGLT2 inhibitors and GLP-1 receptor agonists, uric-acid metabolism, dialysis and transplantation, and nutrition.
- First-authored clinical and narrative reviews on cardiorenal risk factors and emerging therapies, published in leading nephrology and internal-medicine journals.
- Supported clinical research by recruiting study volunteers and collecting and processing blood samples.
- Co-authored 18 peer-reviewed publications, including first-author articles in Clinical Kidney Journal and Angiology.
- Designed peer-led reproductive-health education programs and evaluated their impact on student knowledge and attitudes.
- Developed survey instruments assessing demographics, health knowledge, and attitudes among over 250 university students.
- Investigated cocaine-induced neuronal changes in a murine model using Western blot and fluorescence microscopy.
- Selected for a competitive international research exchange in the biochemistry laboratory of Prof. Inmaculada Ballesteros Yáñez.
- Identified virulence factors of colistin-resistant K. pneumoniae by PCR and genotyped isolates by multilocus sequence typing (MLST).
- Detected neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) via confocal microscopy.
- Presented findings at the 29th European Congress of Clinical Microbiology & Infectious Diseases (ECCMID, 2019).
- Co-authored a peer-reviewed publication in Biology (doi.org/10.3390/biology10050436).
